Hello new and old friends! My name is Reina and I’m hoping for a little help and support to cover Kimchi’s surgery bills.
Kimchi is my little pug shepherd wonder pup and we became friends for life over 3 years ago. Earlier this week, Kimchi was attacked by a larger dog because he was chewing on a mint bone. The other dog pinned him to the ground and broke his left hind leg. We were fortunate enough to get Kimchi admitted to the animal hospital almost immediately, but unfortunately, the x-rays showed multiple fractures which would require surgical repair for him to be able to walk normally again.
Kimchi ended up needing to stay at the animal hospital the night before and after his surgery. During surgery, they inserted a metal plate with screws to hold the bone together. They also found additional bone splintering during the procedure, so they wrapped everything in wire to increase support for the bone to heal.
I asked the other dog owner if he had pet insurance or renters insurance to help cover the medical expenses but he doesn’t. He also said he could not afford to give me more than $400 cash that night. He did agree to $100 monthly payments, but the total bill for Kimchis operation was just under $7,000.00 and I can’t wait 5.5 years for repayment.
With that being said, Kimchi and I are hoping to get help covering the hospital bills so that we can put this whole traumatic experience behind us. Anything anyone can do to help financially support us through this, or even sharing our GoFundMe link, would mean the world to us!
Kimchi is the sweetest, most gentle, silly dog who didn’t deserve this, but he’s really taking it like a champ! Regardless of this unfortunate situation, I’m just so happy he is alive and he will eventually heal from this. We have 8 weeks ahead for recovery, but hopefully, he will frolic in the grass like he used to.
