Kimberly beats Cancer

The Burkey family consists of the marvelous duo, Tim and Kim, and their three precious little ones, Kiersten (age 7), Haven (age 4), and Kai (7 months). Their world was rocked in 2016 when Kim was diagnosed with triple-negative, invasive ductal carcinoma, an aggressive form of breast cancer. After nearly a year of treacherous illness, heartache, and rigorous treatment, she was declared cancer free in March of 2017, but devastatingly, this last October, Kim’s doctors found that the cancer had returned. Along with the horrific effects of the illness, this time around she is dealing with many other health complications involving blood clots, her heart, and her thyroid that will also need treating.

Her treatment is extensive and the road is long. She is currently receiving chemo with the hope that the cancer will shrink enough that they can then operate. A special kind of radiation will then be performed which will involve Kim residing in Indy for several months.

For any donation given over $50, $7 will be be put towards materials and shipping costs of the painting while the remainder will go directly to easing the Burkey family’s medical financial burdens.
