Kimberly’s Medical Miracle

Hello, my name is Krista Tully and I’m starting this GoFundme for my cousin, Kimberly Nakonechni Loss. On February 22, Kimberly was found unconscious and admitted to AdventHealth Hospital in Littleton, Colorado. Test results showed that she had two mini strokes and is battling spinal meningitis that has since traveled to her brain. She may have had a bacterial infection that went unnoticed until it attacked her body in this way. Kimmy went into a coma and is hooked up to feeding tubes and a ventilator. They have tried to take her off the vent to see how she did but her heart rate spiked. She is being treated with heavy antibiotics to battle the infection and is undergoing tests and brain scans daily.

Kimmy’s mother, Mary Nakonechni, and her Aunt Kathleen DiCarluccio are with her right now. It is unknown what the prognosis will be, but it certainly is a very long road ahead. Kimmy’s mother will need to be in a hotel, traveling by Uber back and forth each day for the foreseeable future. Medical costs for treatments are mounting and this will lessen and ease some of the burden that my aunt will have to face. She is dealing with so much right now, and has to prepare for the long road ahead.

If able, Kimmy will have to be life flighted home to be cared for around the clock. She will need countless hours of care and medical aid.

Anyone who is blessed to know Kimmy, realizes that she is a caring, wildly loving and full of life free spirit. To go from being a charismatic woman with a zest for life- to fighting for it, rocked our family to its core.
