Kimberly and her family received a heartbreaking confirmed diagnosis of Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disease, just before Christmas 2024. There was no treatment and on 16 January 2025 Kimberly died. The funeral was, 24 January 2025 and can be viewed at

The Morris family journey has transitioned to one without her physical presence. The GoFundMe has transitioned further to support the family as they navigate their new reality. Kimberly was always spiritually minded and financially responsible. She would understand GoFundMe site concerns asking about a tip. She would have weighed the pros and cons. The impression to ask how they would feel about the creation of a GoFundMe was in light of knowing Kimberly would never ask but it might be a means to support. None of us had experience with it but Michael felt it could be a blessing and an ease of conscience for him. The response may have been different knowing about a transaction fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per donation. The point was/is to provide an avenue to support Kimberly’s family as they navigated this particular journey following CJD. UPDATE: a direct means to support without fees is available at Venmo but could be affected by her passing. For now it works. It is not being posted here to avoid scams. Contact the Morris family or Diana Christiansen directly to obtain.
So many people are experiencing unimaginable challenges, Kimberly would not have asked for this support recognizing all of those other challenges in the world, instead she would have gone about serving others while handling what she was experiencing. That’s why this diagnosis and result has been so profound. If not for CJD’s swift destruction, Kimberly would have continued to reach out to others, either physically or emotionally, to assist. This fund was/is an opportunity to give her and her family what she would have done in some manner for others and to provide another way to provide her family comfort and remove a significant financial concern. Her family and faith are her greatest treasures and legacy. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers to support them as they face this new painful reality.
