Kim's Cancer Recovery
Donation protected
This is my sweet sister-in-love, Kimberly Long. Just looking at her, you would never imagine the health battle she is undergoing. By her genuine smile, loving attitude, and giving spirit, you would never guess that she is fighting Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. Our sweet Kim and cancer just don’t seem like they belong in the same sentence. Yet here she is, in the fight for her life at only 34 years old.
In September of last year (2015) she was pregnant with her fifth child, and unfortunately found the pregnancy to be especially difficult towards the end, and her medical team assumed that the baby was pressing against her liver and that once he was born the pain would subside. But it didn’t. He was born a healthy and strong baby on September 28th, the same day she was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer. The pain did not go away once he was born, so the doctors did a full body scan and determined that the Cancer had most likely been there for quite a while.
Like most, Kim is a private person, and has so much faith that God is a healer, so I had to practically beg her to publish this GoFundMe. Kim has been undergoing chemotherapy on a weekly basis since October, mothering her beautiful children (ages 16, 6, 4, 2 and 4 months old), loving her supportive fiancé, and still attempting to work full time to help him maintain the household. She’s been doing this like a champion, while still experiencing all of the side effects of the medications and the Cancer itself.
The battle and recovery from this type of illness require so much internal strength. Kim certainly has that. It requires faith, which she is full of. It requires the attitude to KNOW you can win the fight. She’s got that covered. And it requires time and attention to focus on yourself. She has none. All of her energies are directed toward her children, her fiancé, her church, and trying to work which is causing a tremendous amount of stress. If I were queen of the world, I would remove one of the stressors – her need to work so hard. She is a hair stylist and is amazing at what she does, but with the energy that it takes to maintain the clientele needed to make ends meet, it’s becoming more and more draining. So she’s accepted jobs doing other things in the field, which is difficult as well.
Kim may never say it, but we all know she’s exhausted, and needs the time and space to focus on her healing. I’m asking all of you to help me give that to her. Anything that you are able to donate would be a tremendous blessing in her life. We are believing for complete healing and a full recovery. Until then, we are trusting in the humanity of others to help her and her family until that healing and recovery come.
Thank you so much in advance.
