Kimberly's Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Kimberly Alvarado is 17 years old and a rising senior in Woodbridge High School. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer between bone and Ligaments) on April 13, 2016. She was later forced out of school due to chemotherapy treatments when she diagnosed because she couldn’t walk. Soon after Kimberly left school she started with double chemotherapy and continued the treatments all throughout the summer of 2016. Kimberly later had surgery to take out the top part of her left femur to remove most of the cancer. About 95% of the cancer was removed and Kimberly was left with a piece of her femur bone missing for about four weeks. In those four weeks she was put on double chemotherapy to try to eliminate what was left of that cancer. She recently went through surgery to replace the piece of the femur bone with an artificial one.

While most of the cancer is gone now, there is still time that needs to be spent in the hospital for her which causes the hospital bill to grow considerably everyday and the family needs some help financially because this is the second time the family has gone though a medical emergency like this. Her older brother Hugo Alvarado went through kidney failure right after high school. Anything will help, and for a family that has gone though so many obstacles, we hope to send Kimberly and her family to Hawaii when she gets better. Thank you for the support.
