In October 2023, Kimberly Merson was unexpectedly diagnosed with terminal cancer two years after the loss of her mother, Kathleen Schwartz (she passed from cancer as well.) This has been devastating for her family: her husband, John, her daughter (me), Molly, as well as her father, Howard, and her brother, Michael. She suddenly got very sick around mid-September, and despite being in pain and struggling to breathe, she was diagnosed with Bronchitis and given medicated inhalers. A month later, Kimberly was unable to walk on her own due to shortness of breath. She was hospitalized and, after many relentless scans and tests, diagnosed with stage four lung cancer at only fifty-five years old.

This is an extreme hit for her immediate family, emotionally and financially. We are humbly asking for help to cover medical bills, mortgage payments, loans, bills, and future funeral costs as we sadly lay her to rest.

Words cannot describe how our family feels. To lose someone so young and full of life is unfathomable. Our family will be losing a mother/sister/daughter whom many thought we'd have many more years to enjoy life with.
