Kimberly Kay Global Immersion Project

Hey friends,

It's Kimberly, and I'm reaching out with a mix of excitement and a dash of nerves. By day, I'm immersed in the incredible world of museum work, leading an exceptional retail team. Evenings and weekends? Well, that's a whole other story. I'm knee-deep in the fascinating chaos of Technobotics 4-H, coaching 20 teams of K-12 students through the wonders of robotics.

Now, here's the plot twist – I'm also focusing on growing myself, navigating the Executive MBA program at the University of Arkansas. A pivotal part of this journey is a mandatory Global Immersion project. Picture this: two weeks in a foreign country, dissecting the complexities of international business and culture. But let's be honest, I could use a bit of support to turn this vision into reality. This trip will also be my first opportunity to travel outside of the US.

So, here's the deal: I'm hustling to cover summer tuition, program costs, and the flight. No sugarcoating it – it's a hefty ask. I am starting this to try and help raise funds. In addition to GoFundMe, I'm planning on hosting pop-up shops at a few markets this spring, with a booth that will include some creative and fun reading-centric pieces that I am creating. All funds from these events and GoFundMe will go directly into making this Global Immersion dream a reality.

Now, why is this trip so crucial? We're not just globe-trotting for the sake of it. This Global Immersion project zeroes in on opportunities in key emerging markets in Chile. These aren't your average tourist spots; these are rapidly growing international markets that scream potential for future expansion. But, and there's always a but, doing business in these emerging markets is a challenge – economically, politically, legally, environmentally, technologically, and culturally.

In teams of 4 or 5, we're diving deep into work while in the country. We're identifying opportunities, solving problems, and addressing issues related to doing business in these host countries. We're talking feasibility studies, export plans, market entry strategies, and more. It's not just about the grades; it's about delivering real, actionable recommendations that could shape the future of businesses in these markets.

On July 29th, we're presenting our findings. Key stakeholders from the companies we're working with will be there, expecting us to deliver the goods. It's not just about impressing the profs; it's about making a real impact.

So, if you're up for supporting not just a trip but an adventure with a purpose, join me. Every bit counts, and your support isn't just helping me; it's contributing to a project that could shape the way businesses operate in these emerging markets.

Thanks for being real and considering being part of this meaningful journey.

Best,
Kimberly
