Kim Roethemeyer Memorial Donation

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in the memory of Kim Roethemeyer. All donations will be donated to the construction of The Prayer Path at The Water's Edge Church.


Kim D. (Straatmann) Roethemeyer, 62 of Omaha, formerly of Kearney, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Jodi Harper Hospice House in Omaha.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2024 at New Life Church with Pastor Roger Wendt officiating. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Kim was born March 30, 1962 to Martin and Phyllis (Walters) Straatmann in Kearney, NE. She was raised in Kearney and received her education from Kearney High School, graduating with the class of 1980. Kim continued her education by attending Kearney State College where she earned her LPN. She worked for several different care facilities in Kearney before moving to Omaha where she worked at Maple Crest Health Centers.

Her pastimes included time spent with her family, traveling, and browsing thrift stores to find that unique piece for her home and family.   
   
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lindsey Britten (fiancé Jeffrey) of Bennington, Dustin (Jackie) Kiolbasa of Gretna, Chris Britten of Hastings, and Brady (Lindsey) Britten of Omaha; grandchildren, Atley, Sophie, Chyler, Beckam, Kennedy, Beau and Mayzie; brother, Gary (Stephanie) Straatmann of Kearney; sister, Marcia (Steve) Anderson of Minden; maternal half-brothers, Larry Henry of Scottsbluff, Charles (Marcia) Henry of Scottsbluff; maternal half-sisters, Anita (Harold) Smith Kearney, Judy (Steve) Miller of Kearney, paternal half-brother, Dennis Sahlstrom of Lyons NE and paternal half -sister, Sally (Richard) Martin of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Belva Henry of Pleasant Grove, UT and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
