October 2022, Kim found a place on her breast that was quite large and through a series of very fast paced events she was diagnosed with Her2+ breast cancer in her left breast. She went through traditional chemo, double mastectomies, and radiation. She has continued to take hormone blockers daily and returned to life and ministry from this but not the same person.

Last week, September 23, 2026, she had her six month visit with the oncologist and was told they had found a place on her liver. We admit there were tears because we knew what chemo did to her the first time. She said that she did not think she would make it through a second time with quality of life or ministry. Then we got a call from a dear friend who has experienced liver cancer and decided to go through an alternative route rather than traditional chemo. He shared with us Envita Cancer Treatment Center in Scottsdale, AZ and this gave us hope. We prayed whether God wanted Kim to focus on Heaven and being with family there or if He wanted her to pursue this route. He gave us both peace that He is not finished with her yet and that we should pursue this even before the biopsy was done. We made contact and started things in AZ then Kim went for her biopsy on Tuesday, September 29. The biopsy was rough as the ½ inch tumor is on top of the liver and just below the lung. Yesterday they called and it is the cancer returned. We called our care person in AZ and she got things moving even faster. We have a zoom appointment with the Doctor there next Wednesday, October 7 to determine treatment and order labs. He will look at Kim’s scans and determine how quick we need to move. This is an aggressive cancer. We could be in AZ, Lord willing, in the next few weeks.

Because this is not the traditional method of chemo, our insurance will not cover this. Her care will be daily for 3 to 4 hours, five days a week for 3 to 4 months. The care could cost 145,000.00 (an average) and then we will need to find housing as well. If we choose to have direct tumor injections it could cost an additional 30,000.00 per injection. This seems so unbelievable but the results are amazing! Our country does not consider non-traditional methods.

We struggle with asking for help but this has been encouraged by the hospital, our family, and even our mission board as we do not have the funds to take care of this…..but God does! He owns it all. “my Father is rich in houses and lands, He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands….”

Please pray for us. We are working now to cover bases here on our campus. We have a strong and precious staff. Reggie will preach through zoom as much as possible and we will include our church family in this journey. You are welcome to take it with us too. Just let us know.

We love you and appreciate you. More than anything we need your prayers for peace and guidance.

And so we take this new journey together and with Him…..
Reggie and Kim Rempel
