As some of you know (and many of you do not), my beautiful and strong mother, Kim Neblett, was recently hospitalized for a couple of weeks. 

On Oct 17th, my mom was admitted to the emergency room with debilitating pains in her abdomen and back. The doctors discovered a very large mass pressing on her pancreas, causing massive fluid build-up in her chest and her heart to become enlarged. She was then moved to the ICU until she could be stabilized for a biopsy and surgery. 

Once given the green light, the doctors were able to biopsy the mass and prep my mom for a 6 hour surgery to remove it. While the surgery was successful, the doctors did have to remove her spleen and parts of her stomach and pancreas. 

Mama Nebs was finally released from the hospital on Oct 31st and was able to come home to her family. However, her recovery battle is not over...

They found that the mass was cancerous. And while it was wholly removed, chemotherapy is our next step to getting our mother fighting fit again. 

While her job has been super understanding and flexible, and her boss and coworkers have been wonderful and generous, mom will be out of commission while she focuses on her recovery. 

Mama Nebs needs our help while she fights this battle. My mom has touched so many people with her kind and compassionate spirit (she never met a stray, animal or human, that she wouldn't take in). Now it's our turn to show her the same kindness.
