Kim Moody Memorial Fund

On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, Kim Kelley Moody passed away suddenly. Her daughter, Kelley, her family, and everyone who has ever met Kim (who I called 'Thunder'), knows that she was a light, someone who, no matter the memory, always came through in the most vibrant detail. We want to honor her life in the way she hoped, with an eco-friendly burial along the Central California Coastline, a spot Kim always held in a very special place in her heart.  This campaign will go to help the family honor those last wishes.

Thank you, we appreciate all of the love and support.

Please see below for Kelley's Facebook announcement of her mother's passing:

I’m sitting in your garden as I type this. The air is sweet from jasmine flowers on the fence, and the chimes are ringing in the breeze. I’ll always feel closest to you here. I never prepared myself to write this: on March 17, 2021, my beautiful mother passed away suddenly. There are so many questions we have regarding how she died, so for now, we are feeling her all around us and remembering the pure joy she brought to all of our lives.

My mother was hilarious. She lived her life in laughter and was the glue to our family. She will always be my best and truest friend. There will never be anything like the bond we’ve had, and while I know that, I’m also numb and in shock. The reality comes in waves. Knowing I won’t be able to pick up the phone and call you, knowing we’ll never be copying each other’s orders at restaurants again, knowing you won’t be playing a hand in the endless hours of Uno at Christmas, knowing you won’t be in the check out line behind me on our shopping sprees, knowing I’ll only hear your voice in my mind singing our silly songs and talking to our pets, the list goes on. I know these things, but it will hurt forever having to accept them.

My mother was powerful and clever. She had courage, and she was bold. My mother spoke her mind, always. She loved animals and nature. She was an amazing decorator and loved organizing. She surrounded herself with beauty. She had a special way of energizing a room when she walked in. I was the love of my mother’s life, and she, mine. She wasn’t perfect, but she was perfect for me. She is in everything I do and every move I make. She always will be.

My family has a long way to go in understanding this loss. It takes the air out of your lungs and makes you question the reality around you. It’s a gaping hole that leaves you lost and confused.

I love you more, Mommy. I’ll always be your baby bunny rabbit.
