Kim Mendes's Memorial and Family Expenses

I am Pink Howell, my sister Kim Mendes, 38 tragically passed away after getting involved in a car accident. She was on her way home from work around 7:15 am on July 12 when a truck tried to merge lanes, hitting her car. According to reports, her car spun across the highway, and was hit by an SUV.

My loving sister left her beautiful family, her husband Alex, and three young kids, JohnVic, 9, Sophia, 6, and Olivia, 8 months old. The devastating loss and pain of losing her is unimaginable.

She was a loving daughter and sister to me and our brother Kurt.

Kim grew up in the Philippines and relocated to the US in 2014 to start a beautiful family. Kim's family was her life, being a wonderful wife and mom was her ultimate joy. She was a nurse by profession, and she brought her compassion to caring for patients, recently in critical care.

Kim was active in her Church and has always been the voice of reason in our family. While she always says that "Life is Short, let's be kind to each other and intentionally make memories," it is painful to have her life cut short this way.

We are raising funds for funeral expenses and her family - her children who will navigate this life missing her presence. But we take comfort in knowing that she is in the loving arms of our Lord.
