Paying tribute to Kim Kimball

I never thought I’d be writing one of these, especially for someone so near and dear to my heart… and the hearts of so many others.

Last Monday my mother, Kim Kimball (with little to no medical problems) collapsed at home due an unexpected cardiac arrest, thankfully my father, Glenn, was there to give her life saving CPR and to the EMS crew to get her heart beating again. She was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the ICU and placed on a vent… she was fighting for her life for the past week with her family and friends by her side… but unfortunately it was a losing battle.

She leaves behind her husband of almost 40 years, her 3 children, and 2 grandchildren… and a third grandchild due next month.

This is, without a doubt, the hardest and most difficult week of my family’s life… the process of witnessing a loved one's last breath is heart breaking to the core and at the same time trying to accept the beauty of the perfectly imperfect, inevitable, departure.
