Kim Flintoff's medical bills from brain cancer
Donation protected
Just 3 weeks ago on September 3rd, Kim, a beloved Moorpark wife and mom, passed away from complications related to brain cancer.
Two craniotomies along with multiple rounds of radiation and chemo have resulted in thousands of dollars in medical bills; well beyond the goal set of $20,000. It's difficult to ask for help; Kim's husband begrudgingly agreed to do so but wanted to set the goal low. Our goal is to alleviate some of the financial pressure on her husband so he can focus on grieving and eventually healing with Jonathan.
In July 2021 Kim was given a devastating diagnosis; Stage 4 Glioblastoma with 12-18 months to live. Unfortunately, she was no stranger to cancer; she was diagnosed with and overcame breast cancer in 2012.
1 week before her diagnosis
She was determined to make it to her 50th birthday and to see Jonathan graduate from 8th grade. She had a craniotomy to remove the tumor and went through chemo and radiation treatment.
In April 2022 she celebrated her 50th birthday at a party with family and friends.
However, just one month later she received the news that there was a new tumor and she needed to have a 2nd craniotomy to remove it. She scheduled the surgery for the day after Jonathan's graduation but unfortunately had to be rushed to emergency surgery just 4 days before. She never quite recovered from this surgery and developed hydrocephalus right after.
Kim was the embodiment of the cliche "beautiful inside and out". She was extremely thoughtful, loving, and caring. She made everyone she knew feel valued and loved. Even when faced with a nightmare prognosis, she did her best to remain upbeat. Most of all, she lived for Jonathan. They always had a close relationship; even as a teen he doted on her and didn't shy away from hugs and affection.
My heart breaks for all she is going to miss. Jon and Jonathan now have to learn to live without Kim; who was their rock, and who they loved and adored so much.
