Kim B Coffey

Hi my name is Julie Coffey and my father in law Kim Coffey passed away on 2/4/2023. Kim is the son of Don and Ruth Coffey, the husband to Sue Coffey and the father to Joel Coffey. When I came into this family Kim was the first one to welcome me and help me when I needed it. I had heartburn for the first time and thought I was dying and he ran to get me heart burn medication without me asking for it. He was always the one to help when someone needed it. If you knew Kim you loved him. He loved to help and was the first one to jump up in a situation. Even though he didn’t follow in his dads footsteps of being a police officer, he still had the instincts from his father and would run to help in any situation. When Joel got older and moved out, he would randomly stop by just to see if we needed anything. He loved to help.

He’s battled with vascular dementia and has been in a care home for the last 3 years. For the last 2 years he hasn’t known who his wife and son are. We had a 12 hour warning before he passed away leaving us in a situation where we didn’t realize how much it costs to die. We should have been ready for this but we weren’t. We didn’t realize how soon this would happen. We are the usually the ones who help people in need and now sadly we are the people needing the help. We have found the cheapest place for cremation and are needing to raise $1250-1300 and that will cover the cost of cremation, death certificates and the fees for filing with the state. Anything over will go to a memorial service for Kim and celebrate his life and what an amazing man he was.
