Kim and Mike's Road to Recovery Fund
Donation protected
As many of you already know, my mom Kim and her fiancé Mike were involved in a near-fatal car wreck on April 23rd while on their way to a doctor’s appointment. The car flipped multiple times and caught fire. By the grace of God, some amazingly heroic good Samaritans came to their immediate rescue and pulled them from the burning vehicle. They were both life-flighted to separate hospitals in Indianapolis. They’ve both sustained incredibly severe injuries requiring multiple surgeries. Mike has a broken arm, nose, had internal bleeding in his throat, and requires plastic surgery to his face. Kim has a broken pelvis (including a separation of her pelvis from her spine), internal bleeding, and a shattered tibia/fibula (that will require a titanium rod).
So far, Mike has had surgery placing titanium plates and 12 screws in his arm, and Mom has had two surgeries, one piecing her pelvis back together and the other to reattach her spine to her pelvis. They’ve each got another surgery ahead. Mike has since been discharged, but Mom is still currently in ICU fighting viral pneumonia. She has had some serious complications due to having progressed lung disease. She is still very ill, but we remain optimistic. They are understandably struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time, with being unable to work, drive, and the expenses of Mike’s hotel stays to be near Mom as their home is nearly 1.5 hours from the hospital.
Kim and Mike have a long road ahead of them and will need assistance in their healing journeys, so we humbly ask for donations to assist them during this difficult time. We understand that times are tough for most of us right now, and even a small donation would be so very appreciated. We are so grateful to everyone for their kind thoughts, prayers, and concerns. It is a miracle that they survived this. Please give what you can and even if you cannot donate, please share.
Sincerely,
The children of Kim and Mike
