My name is Kim, I am a 28 year old para dressage rider, based in Sooke BC, Canada. I am actively training and working towards representing Canada in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

I was born with a disability called Cerebral Palsy, a disability affecting all the muscles in my body and can impact my balance, coordination, fine motor skills, and muscle tone. Throughout my younger years I constantly struggled with fitting in, and keeping up to my peers. That was until I started riding.

For the last 10 years I have competed as a national athlete, a ranked rider for Para Equestrian Canada, and as a member of Canada's Talent ID Squad. After a few years working behind the scenes bringing up my new parter Dominion, I'm ready to step out and pursue this dream I am so passionate about. 2022 was a rocky year, learning to walk again after a life changing accident may have put a damper in my plans, but now we are back better than ever!

The sport of Para Dressage is very costly, and honestly something that is becoming harder to afford on my own. Between the costs of horse care, feed, board, training costs and my own training costs, the bills add up before we even step into the arena! This is why I am in need of support and sponsors to make this a reality.
