Kiltwalk -Dyslexia Scotland 2025
As many people know I was diagnosed with Dyslexia back in 2017 after a very long and tiring experience fighting for a diagnosis, since then it has become my mission to advocate for dyslexia and help raise awareness on how we can make classrooms inclusive so that all children with dyslexia can strive to their full potential. That’s why I have chosen to raise money for Dyslexia Scotland by partaking with my brother, Patrick, in this year’s kilt walk.
Dyslexia Scotland are a Scottish- Based organization dedicated to supporting individuals with dyslexia and raising awareness about the condition. By providing advice, supporting educators, developing resources and advocating for rights they aim to help Scotland become fully dyslexic inclusive. They aim to make sure that everyone in Scotland know what dyslexia is and what dyslexia isn’t.
In Scotland around 58,000 pupils are identified with dyslexia that is roughly four students in each classroom in Scotland!
Dyslexia isn’t “being bad at spelling” or “not being able to read” you can’t be “a little bit dyslexic” and are definitely “not stupid” The truth is that dyslexics are highly intelligent people who thrive in different ways when given the correct support. Dyslexics are Artists, Actors, Entrepreneurs, Scientists, Writers, athletes and authors just to name a few.
By joining the momentum and engaging with dyslexia Scotland you can help the charity provide critical support for people living with dyslexia in Scotland, from funding private tutoring sessions too continuing research for making Scotland inclusive. Be a changemaker today!
To any child with dyslexia struggling in school I will tell you this “Keep going until you get it right and then don’t stop until you cant get it wrong” You are highly intelligent and never let anyone tell you anything less.
Yours always,
