Yesterday we took Bilo to the vet and got unexpected bad news that he has a mast cell tumor (cancer).

We went to get a lil leg lump looked at which he had forever, and it had been apparently benign. but it started to get bigger and red and kinda scary over a few weeks.

So he needs to get a little surgery to get it removed and graded. that will be around $2,000 that we unfortunately really don’t have. (the $200 diagnostic visit was already a lot lol)

This initial surgery will either tell us that it’s all good or that we need to do more.

Mast cell tumors are pretty common in dogs so there is a lot of info out there which is comforting!

Bilo is sooo special to me and to Keegan, the three of us are really a team, a family. He is our little guy, my bestie. Some people think he’s more spoiled than a dog should be but I don’t. He makes me crack up many times a day, I s2g he knows the best jokes and tries to make me laugh . He is always there to cuddle me when I’m sick or sad or cold. And he loves to let me dress him up which rules. He can play tug of war for hours which is exhausting. He has so many friends (people and dogs) who he loves so much, nothing makes him happier than one of his friends coming over or getting to go for a car ride with one of yall.

if you’re part of bilos fan club and want to see him soon, hit me up!! he’s just as energetic as ever and you wouldn’t know he was sick so he’d be happy to ball out at the mall etc. I don’t think he has realized he is sick yet either but he seems more anxious than usual.. hopefully it’s just because we are worried and not that he isn’t feeling well.

so yeah, the sooner the better when it comes to getting this surgery, it would take me so long to save up for it but ideally we can get it done within the next week or two.
