(Edited with cost break down)
Hi my name is Lisa and I'm fundraising to cover a particular medical drug that is not covered by my benefits and is to expensive for my family to afford to help eradicate my breast cancer and really guarantee my best survival rate and to really help it to never come back. I will still end up losing one if not both my breasts but this drug Perjeta or PERJ3534 is said to almost guarantee that it kills it. The Oncology Dr. keeps asking when im going to be able to go on this and i have to keep saying money is the issue and she keeps saying for us to figure it out because i really need it. The team at WRHN has managed to find a way to get 60% of the drug covered but I still need to come up with roughly 32k. No idea why it's not covered by OHIP but it isn't. We do still pay a small amount for all my other medications after my benefits pay most of it. My husband has not been busy as he usually is and the economy for housing is dead and the price for what he does keeps going down and we're all doing the best we can. This is the last thing that Harry ever wanted us to do but he agrees my health is more important then his pride to not accept help. I'm a mother of 4 children and I'd love to see them grow up and live long healthy lives like I would and this medication could help me achieve that wish.
The med is called Pertuzumab and the first dose is roughly $3460.00 and every 3 weeks is another dose (17 doses) but only roughly $1740.00 per dose. Not sure if thats plus tax yet but that is the donation cost as if it is with tax just in case but will edit that number once we know more.
Thank you for reading all this and making a difference in my life.
