Thank You for Supporting Kilkenny Social Club Meetup

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Kilkenny Social Club Meetup over the past year, whether by attending events, spreading the word, or making a donation.

I'm delighted to say that last year's Meetup subscription was fully funded through the generosity of members' donations. Your support helped ensure that the group could continue to operate and provide a place for people across Kilkenny and beyond to connect, socialise, and take part in local events.

Many people are surprised to learn that Meetup isn't free for organisers. To keep the group running, Meetup charges a subscription fee of US$99.99 every six months, payable in January and July. This subscription allows us to maintain the group, organise events, communicate with members, and continue growing our local community.

What Your Donations Fund

The annual fundraising target is €200.

This amount is intended to cover the Meetup subscription costs for the year, which are currently US$99.99 every six months (January and July), along with the payment processing fees deducted from donations.

Any funds raised above the target will be retained and used towards future Meetup subscription renewals, helping to keep the group sustainable and reducing the need for frequent fundraising appeals.

As always, organising the group and events is done entirely on a voluntary basis. No organiser receives any personal payment, salary, or profit from donations. All funds are used solely to support the continued operation of the Kilkenny Social Club group and its ongoing subscription costs.

Why We Ask for Contributions

Kilkenny Social Club Meetup is free to join, and there is absolutely no obligation to donate. However, if you've enjoyed attending events, made new friends, discovered new activities, or simply appreciate having the group available, a small contribution can help ensure that the community continues to thrive.

Every donation, no matter the amount, is genuinely appreciated and helps keep the group active, welcoming, and available to everyone.
