Hello everyone!

We're Domi and Ellen, and we're embarking on an incredible journey that’s deeply close to our hearts. In June, we're taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, not just for the thrill but to support a cause that means the world to us: Irish Cancer Society supporting Breast Cancer research and services.

Breast cancer ranks as the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women across Ireland, affecting 1 in 9 women over their lifetime, along with 1 in 1000 incidences of breast cancer affecting men. Notably, 23% of diagnoses occur between ages 20-50, 34% between 50-69, and 36% over 70. Despite these statistics, there are reasons for hope - charities like the Irish Cancer Society that support Breast Cancer research and services, play a pivotal role in increasing survival rates through continuous research, raising awareness and delivering education. Irish Cancer Society is more than just an organisation; it's a beacon of hope, providing invaluable support to those battling breast cancer, their families, and friends. For us, this cause hits home.

I'm Ellen, and unfortunately, in 2019, I lost my mom to breast cancer, an experience that shattered our hearts and ignited a desire to honour her memory in the most impactful way possible. My mom always enjoyed spending time outdoors and experiencing the world before she became unwell. Through this expedition, we want to carry forward the legacy of those we’ve lost and support others fighting this battle while shedding light on the vital work carried out by the Irish Cancer Society and their efforts Breast Cancer research and services.

Here's our plan: Half of all donations will directly support Breast Cancer research and services of Irish Cancer Society's incredible efforts, while the other half will help fund our trek up Kilimanjaro. Each donation will fuel our determination and bring us one step closer to making a difference in the lives of those affected by Breast Cancer by donating to the Irish Cancer Society. We're reaching out for your support, not just for our journey, but for the countless lives touched by this cause.

Any donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. If contributing financially is not possible, sharing our fundraising link across your social media platforms would aid in spreading awareness. Your support in any form is truly valued.

Unfortunately, there have been issues with our previous GoFundMe account and this has now been closed. All donations (€640) have been automatically transferred to the Breast Cancer unit of the Irish Cancer Society. The totalling €640 from all who have donated are added to this new account as an “offline donation”. All donors who have donated to our now closed account, are acknowledged below, along with their respective donation amounts.
