KILIMANJARO FOR NEUROENDOCRINE CANCER AUSTRALIA

A French lady, Leslie, and an Australian lady, Kate, came up with the idea to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, in October 2022, with a purpose to fundraise for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia and to empower female tour guides in Tanzania! Over the coming months we will be driving initiatives & challenges to raise funds for such a worthy cause and we need YOUR support!!

Approximately 5 years ago, Kate's mother was diagnosed with this rare cancer that they call the unicorn (NETs Cancer) and NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia has been there to support her along the way.

NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia aim to assist and support patients and carers; lobby for new, appropriate treatments and investigations; raise awareness and knowledge of NETs within the medical community and general public including the creation of pamphlets; and encourage and support Australian research in the area of NeuroEndocrine cancers. No funding is provided by the government and given the growing number of people being diagnosed with type of cancer (within Australia, 22,000+ people or globally every +35 out of 100,000 people). There is only one specialized nurse in Australia that supports people with this type of cancer.

By donating to this cause, you will continue to ensure that NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia can continue to support those impacted (directly, family and for friends), as well as promote female tour guides at Mount Kilimanjaro.

The aim is to raise +10,000 euros before the 15th of December 2022, with part of the proceeds going to fund the initiative of Mount Kilimanjaro approx 4,000 euros and support the women tour guides

Challenges are accepted before going to Africa in order to raise funds: donation above 50€;

Deux jeunes demoiselles, l’une Australienne, Kate, et la seconde Francaise, Leslie, se sont mises au défi de réaliser l’ascension du Kilimanjaro, Tanzanie, en Octobre 2022. Cette ascension a pour but principal une levée de fonds pour la recherche contre les tumeurs neuroendocrines mais également la promotion des Femmes dans l’industrie du plein air Tanzanienne.

Durant ces quelques mois, nous allons mener différents challenges afin de lever des fonds pour ces deux causes qui nous sont chères et nous avons également besoin de VOTRE soutien!

Il y a environ quatre années, une forme rare de cancer appelé “Licorne” (tumeurs neuroendocrines) a été diagnostiqué chez la maman de Kate. L’association australienne pour les tumeurs neuroendocrines était présente pour la soutenir durant cette épreuve. Cette association a pour but d’assister les patients et leurs familles mais également soutenir la recherche de nouveaux traitements tout en sensibilisant les professionnels de santé et le public en général sur cette forme rare de cancer (+22.000 personnes atteintes en Australie et 35 personnes sur 100.000 atteintes au monde).

Donner pour ces causes permettra à l’association NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia d’aider les personnes impactées directement ou indirectement mais également à la promotion des Femmes dans l’industrie du plein air Tanzanienne.
