Hey everyone!!
Thank you for taking your time to read about my fundraiser. On the 8th February 2020 I will be flying to Tanzania to climb (& hopefully summit) the tallest free standing mountain in the world - Kilimanjaro.
While taking on this massive challenge I have decided to raise awareness and money for The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
https://kevinbellrepatriationtrust.com/
My trip has been 100% self-funded, so every cent raised will be donated to this amazing charity. The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families by repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland. It was set up by Eithne and Colin Bell after their son Kevin was killed in a hit and run at 26 years of age in New York in 2013.
I chose this charity as it's one that's very close to my heart. Emigration has become a way of life especially within Ireland and I don't think there is an Irish family who doesn't have a family member living or have lived abroad. Having lived in Australia myself and losing a friend while being out there and whose family relied on this charity, I have seen first-hand how this charity provides assistance and support to families and communities in their time of need. Going forward I can only hope that none of us will require to use their services but sadly there will be families who will. Since this charity was set up in 2013, over 700 Irish people have been repatriated home to their families, and it is my wish to raise whatever I can and continue to spread awareness.
I hate asking people for money especially this time of year, but any donation, big or small, will help this charity to continue their great work. Anything at all is greatly appreciated.
Thanks a million,
Sarah Xxx
(Ps lighting a candle or two for me wouldn't go a miss either )
