Kilimanjaro Challenge for British Heart Foundation
Do you want to join me in making a difference?
I'm raising money in aid of British Heart Foundation and every donation will help. So whether it is a small amount (£5) or large donation, as the saying goes Every Little Helps and is very much appreciated.
This is my story and the rationale for why I have chosen the British Heart Foundation as the charity for my Kilimanjaro Challenge.
On Easter Sunday, April 17th, 2022 @ 12:29pm, I received a phone call from my Mother telling me that she could not get a response from my Father. I knew in that split second that my life and that of my family was about to change forever.
Despite the best efforts of the paramedics, ambulance crews, my eldest son and my brother's stepson, my Best Mate had passed away unexpectedly and way too early (even though he was 87). Following the post mortem, the cause of death was primarily from a massive heart attack.
Therefore, I have chosen the British Heart Foundation to “Fight for Every Heartbeat” See below for more information on how your donations are utilused.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me and my family.
I know that he will be with me every step of the way during my challenge and as he said to my Mother every single day and to all of his family in their Birthday and Christmas cards…”Aways Look on the Bright Side of Life”
It is important to note that all donations go directly to the charity and I do not access to any of these funds, unlike other fundraisers. My aim is to raise well in excess of my initial target, despite the current cost of living situation.
Kind regards

Where your donations go…
Heart and circulatory diseases are the world’s biggest killers, but our research, funded solely by supporters like you, tackles all of them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They’re all connected, and they’re all under our microscope.. Your fundraising for the British Heart Foundation will help our researchers find the breakthroughs that beat the heartbreak these conditions cause. You help us keep hearts beating and blood flowing, but you will also give people what really matters. Sunday mornings together. Walks in the park. Birthday parties. Wedding days. Nights on the sofa. Whatever you are able to raise, you help us keep families together.
£10…could pay for a researcher’s toolkit, containing all the test tubes, flasks, dishes and gloves a busy team of researchers would use in a day.
£32…could pay for one of our early career scientists to conduct two hours of important research.
£300…could pay for a whole day of a project to build new healthy pieces of heart. New heart tissue could be used in the future to treat heart failure.
£3,000…could buy a PCR machine that can make it easier to examine DNA, helping researchers find faulty genes.
UK taxpayers, please don't forget about Gift Aid.
