Kili Climb for Kids
A group of us will be traveling to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest freestanding mountain. During our stay, we will be visiting Kao La Amani Orphanage and are raising much-needed funds for the Tír na nÓg Children's Foundation.
In Tanzania, roughly 8% of children under the age of 18 are orphaned. This Foundation was created to alleviate the suffering of orphaned and abandoned Tanzanian children and to provide a home where they would be nurtured in a loving, safe environment. Kao La Amani, which means “a place of peace,” is a self-sustaining, off-grid village that provides nutritional meals, education, medical assistance, and accommodations to displaced children. The founder, Louise Quill, and her team work tirelessly to keep this village running, ensuring it will be able to provide homes to children in this area for decades to come. There is a beautiful documentary on Louise and the Children’s Village here:
Our goal is to reach $2,000 to help support the building of a new playground area for the kids. The climb itself is completely self-funded and all proceeds raised here will go directly to Tír na nÓg Children's Foundation: https://tirnanogchildrensfoundation.com/
Any support you can give would mean so much to us.
Asante Sana - Thank You So Very Much!
