Juan Francisco Aparicio Más (Kiko), his wife, and his child have been going through a hard time for months now and they need our support. We still have hope for his recovery.
- He had a simple medical intervention on 15.12.2022 at the Universittätsspital Zürich with many complications and he is currently in a completely vegetative state due to the brain damage suffered as a result of a massive lack of oxygen in the brain (hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy).
- He suffered hypoxia due to a postsurgical inflammatory response after the intervention, a tracheotomy was carried out with delay, which led to a cardiac arrest and finally into a coma.
- After several procedures, he opened his eyes, but additional examinations showed that his brain had been severely affected (absolutely no reaction to stimuli, no movement, no contact ability) and his prognosis is very poor according to the medical specialists. He was then delivered to the "Stadtspital Zürich Triemli" for neurological rehabilitation, transferred to the rehabilitation clinic "Rehaklinik Bellikon" and moved again to the Spital Waid.
- After all these months of therapies and rehabilitation (physiotherapy, ergotherapy, dysphagy therapy), and according to the latest results as of 22.03.2023: there is no progress in the patient.
- On 22.03.2023 he was transferred to Gesundheitszentrum für das Alter Gehrenholz, where is currently treated.
Multiple illnesses appeared during the last months:
1) Pneumothorax (abnormal collection of air in the pleural space between the lung and the chest wall)
2) Infection
3) Lung embolism
4) Bacterial infection (pseudomonas aeruginosa)
5) Repetitive pneumonia
We want to continue with the rehabilitation and additional treatments since we still have hope he recovers.
Unfortunately, the insurance does not cover all expenses (partial cover from the insurance, subsidy from the government and own funds). Moreover, the process for the permanent disability certificate is time-consuming and resource-consuming, and we truly need your support.

Juan Francisco Aparicio Más (Kiko), su mujer y su hijo lo están pasando mal desde hace meses y necesitan nuestro apoyo. Todavía tenemos esperanza en su recuperación.
Fue sometido a una sencilla intervención médica el 15.12.2022 en el Universittätsspital Zürich con muchas complicaciones y actualmente se encuentra en estado completamente vegetativo debido al daño cerebral sufrido como consecuencia de una falta masiva de oxígeno en el cerebro (encefalopatía hipóxico-isquémica).
- Sufrió hipoxia debido a una respuesta inflamatoria posquirúrgica tras la intervención, se le practicó una traqueotomía con retraso, lo que le llevó a una parada cardiaca y finalmente al coma.
- Tras varios procedimientos, abrió los ojos, pero los exámenes complementarios mostraron que su cerebro había quedado gravemente afectado (ausencia total de reacción a los estímulos, de movimiento y de capacidad de contacto) y su pronóstico es muy malo según los médicos especialistas. Fue ingresado en el "Stadtspital Zürich Triemli" para rehabilitación neurológica, trasladado a la clínica de rehabilitación "Rehaklinik Bellikon" y trasladado de nuevo al Spital Waid.
- Después de todos estos meses de terapias y rehabilitación (fisioterapia, ergoterapia, terapia de disfagia), y según los últimos resultados a fecha 22.03.2023: no hay progresos en el paciente.
- El 22.03.2023 fue trasladado al Gesundheitszentrum für das Alter Gehrenholz, donde es tratado actualmente.
Múltiples enfermedades aparecieron durante los últimos meses:
1) Neumotórax (acumulación anormal de aire en el espacio pleural entre el pulmón y la pared torácica)
2) Infección
3) Embolia pulmonar
4) Infección bacteriana (pseudomonas aeruginosa)
5) Neumonía de repetición
Queremos seguir con la rehabilitación y los tratamientos adicionales, ya que aún tenemos esperanzas de que se recupere.
Por desgracia, el seguro no cubre todos los gastos (cobertura parcial del seguro, subvención del Gobierno y fondos propios). Además, el proceso para obtener el certificado de incapacidad permanente requiere mucho tiempo y recursos, por lo que realmente necesitamos vuestro apoyo.
