For anyone who knows Kiersten, you know she is a light. A vibrant, brilliant, determined soul who brings laughter, insight, and warmth to every room she enters. She’s one of those rare people who, even in the face of life’s darkest moments, finds ways to educate, uplift, and inspire those around her.

Over the past few years, Kiersten’s journey through cancer has been nothing short of extraordinary. She’s met each twist and turn with grit, grace, and an insatiable desire to learn everything she can to fight for her life. But now, she needs our help.

And right beside her, every step of the way, has been her husband, Greg.

Greg is not only Kiersten’s greatest supporter—he is her unwavering rock. He’s been by her side for every appointment, every hospital stay, every new chapter of this fight—always showing up with love, steadiness, and strength. Together, they’ve built a beautiful life rooted in their love for the outdoors, their cherished animals, and most of all, each other. They are true partners in every sense of the word.

But this battle is asking so much of him. While continuing to work full-time, Greg is also managing the daily household responsibilities, juggling endless logistics, and serving as Kiersten’s primary caregiver. The physical and emotional toll is immense—and yet he does it all without hesitation, driven by his deep love for Kiersten.

Kiersten’s Story — In Her Words
"It’s me! Giving a little back story and detail on this cancer journey for those who may be interested. For those who don’t want to read all of this (there is just so much!), the quick update is I’ve just learned that my stage 4 metastasis has now spread to my liver—we’re currently in the process of determining next steps. One of those steps is spinal radiation. I’m currently unable to walk after a recent 8-day stay in the hospital.

I’d always considered myself very healthy and was shocked to receive my initial stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis in December 2021. I followed standard oncology protocols (“the assembly line”) for 16 months and went to 200+ medical appointments including 8 surgeries, 4 months of chemo, 25 rounds of radiation and 12 months of immunotherapy (sounds nice-ish but these were actually harsh pharmaceuticals) as well as some supportive, integrative therapies such as acupuncture and PT.

At my final treatment on 3/26/2023, I was considered “cancer free”!!! According to protocol, no scans were needed to verify this. However on 3/28/2024—just one year later—I was diagnosed with extensive and innumerable stage 4 bone and lymph node metastasis, from scalp to femur.

So in the end, standard cancer treatments didn’t work. At all.

Because of this, it has been extremely important this time around to take a much more robust, integrative approach to eliminating tumors and pain. Many of these treatments are part of standard care in countries outside the US! A huge focus has been mistletoe therapy, as well as heavy supplementation and off-label drugs that have known anticancer benefits. These integrative therapies also have the benefit of reducing side effects of standard cancer treatments. It is a full-time job—and the cost of it all is equivalent to a full-time job. And yet, I’m not able to work. I can’t even sit in a chair comfortably.

Unfortunately, integrative and alternative therapies are not covered by insurance. And even the standard treatments are expensive and include never-ending bills and expenses. There are many potential integrative treatments out there that could prove to be helpful and sustain life, but the costs are very prohibitive.

Thanks for even considering donating to my GoFundMe. Never did I think we’d be in this situation. We’ve always saved our money and lived under our means, and looked to have a comfortable retirement ahead of us. But here we are, now unsure of so many things that lie ahead of us. Thanks for all of the prayers, kindness and goodwill that has been showered upon us up to this point, and thank you for assisting with therapies that will hopefully save a life."

How You Can Help
Kiersten and Greg are facing an unimaginable mountain—physically, emotionally, and financially. While they’ve approached every challenge with courage and humility, the reality is that the most promising treatments for Kiersten’s cancer aren’t covered by insurance.

Your donation will help cover:

  • Life-sustaining integrative therapies (like mistletoe treatment and off-label medications)
  • Ongoing medical expenses not covered by insurance
  • Daily living expenses while Kiersten is unable to work

If you’ve ever been touched by Kiersten’s brilliance, her kindness, or her unwavering spirit, now is the time to give back. Every dollar—truly—makes a difference.

If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this with your network and keeping Kiersten and Greg in your prayers.

Thank you for being part of her village.
