Dear Family and Friends,
Our boys Kiên and Vinh are fundraising for school trips. This spring Kiên will travel with his choir to San Francisco and this summer Vinh will travel with his classmates to Washington DC. Hồng Anh will serve as a chaperone on the SF trip. We are attempting to cover costs by neither asking you to buy anything nor to participate in any additional fundraisers. Your donation will go directly to the boys' educational travel. Thank you for giving what you can to help them reach their fundraising goals.
Kiên is 17 years old, a senior in high school, a straight A student, a varsity athlete in cross country and track, and the concertmaster of both Poly High School Orchestra and our city's Riverside Youth Orchestra on violin. This year he is president of both the Asian Student Union and of Orchestra Club and also participates in Photography Club and Physics Club. He is section leader in the high school varsity choir Chamber Singers in which he sings both Bass and Tenor, and auditioned into the prestigious All Southern California Regional Honor Choir for the second year in a row. Last winter he advanced to the very competitive All State Honor Choir, where he workshopped repertoire with high schoolers from all over the state for four days, culminating in a concert in Sacramento in January. He was recently accepted to All State Honor Choir again this year. His high school's varsity choir will be on an educational performance tour to San Francisco in spring 2026.
At Poly High School Chamber Singers' last concert on October 1, 2025, they performed an Indonesian folk song: Click here to listen
Vinh is 13 years old, in 8th grade, a straight A student, and a club water polo athlete and swimmer in both Riverside Water Polo and Riverside Aquatics Association. He plays viola in his middle school orchestra, as well as in the Riverside Youth Orchestra. He continues to study piano, going on 8 years. He also studies Spanish in a Dual Language Immersion program, in which he has single subject coursework all in Spanish, including history, science and AP Spanish language. He will take his first Advanced Placement Spanish exam this spring for college credit. His favorite subject is history and his educational school trip to Washington DC will have a history focus. He will travel on the first day of summer 2026, right after school ends.
We thank you very much for your love and support.
