Kiely Twins Need Help

Two days ago, we found out that our unborn twin boys are in serious trouble. Baby Xander is normal-sized and healthy, but Baby Ozzy is critically underweight, and has little to no amniotic fluid surrounding him in the womb.

Upon finding out, we were faced with the impossible choice of emergency-inducing labor and risking both the babies’ lives, or continuing with the pregnancy and assuredly losing Ozzy in the process. There is no worse decision a parent could ever make.

In a twist of fate, after two days of constant monitoring and testing, Ozzy is doing better than anyone could have hoped, and the need to emergency-induce has been temporarily postponed. But sadly, that could change at any time, any day now. Should we need to induce at this point in the pregnancy, little Ozzy has less than a 40% chance of survival. We are praying he can hang on for as long as possible to increase he and his brother’s chance of living a full, beautiful life. They are only 24 weeks gestation as of this writing, so even a few more weeks in the womb increases their chances exponentially.

In the meantime, Noelle can’t work at all, as she is hospitalized, and her job does not offer maternity leave. I myself am working as much as possible, but with Noelle hospitalized for the coming months, childcare for our daughter Storm has made picking up shifts all but impossible. Regardless, my income alone can’t come close to covering daily expenses and bills, much less the coming hospital bills and out-of-pocket expenses which will only snowball immensely from here on out. Even if, God-willing, the boys are delivered safely, they will still be desperately pre-mature, and their aftercare is sure to be a harrowing experience for our little family. And as difficult as this experience will be for us emotionally, we just don’t have the means to support this hardship financially, either.

Any contribution is so incredibly appreciated. Even a dollar or a prayer. A hug or a handshake. Anything and everything helps. Our baby boys, and especially little Oz need all the help we can give them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With love and hope,
Sean, Noelle, and Storm Kiely
