As a nursery, we are raising money to implement a community defibrillator, this can be used by anyone who requires the use of an AED in the locality.
What is an AED?
An Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that can be used to treat a person whose heart has suddenly stopped working; this condition is called sudden cardiac arrest.
The use of an AED within 3-5 minutes of collapse can produce survival rates of between 50-70%. Each minute of delay reduces the probability of survival by 10%. Fewer than 2% of people have a defibrillator used before an ambulance arrives. The use of an AED increases the likelihood of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest. AED's can be administered to both children and adults.
As the Monton community is growing, we feel this would be an invaluable benefit, not only for our children and families, but for use of the wider community.
7th-15th June is British Heart Week, Our children here at Kidzrus Monton will be holding an Olympics week, the children will be taking part in lots of sports activities outdoors to raise money. We will also be teaching them about Heart health, POW activities (pulse increase, out of breath, warmth) and how regular exercise can contribute to good heart health.
We ask that you give what you are able to in order for us to raise funds to implement the AED for our local community
Thank you
Kidzrus Monton
