KidWind trip to Nationals at Boulder Colorado
Donation protected
The KidWind Challenge is a competition where teams of students design, construct and test small-scale wind turbines with innovation in mind. Our High School Team of 4 has put in Hundreds of hours creating our wind turbine which on March 25th won the state competition allowing us to attend the national competition in Boulder, Colorado. We are trying to raise money to fund the trip to nationals which will be from May 14th to May 17th.
Funds will be used to cover airfare ($490 x 4 = $1,960)
Two hotels rooms (boys and girls) for 4 nights ($275 x 8 = $2,200)
Windmill materials (for repairs and upgrades as we get ready) $150
T-Shirts (with donors' names or logos) $150
Food - 4 kids x $30/day x 5 = $600
This comes out to approximately 5,060$
This project is important to us because we care about finding solid solutions to slow the rate at which the climate is changing. Exploiting wind power means reducing the use of fossil fuels helping combat climate change. The future we need is a future of renewable energy.
