As you may know, Roger suffered a medical emergency Fathers day week-end and was diagnosed with “Renal Kidney Failure”. A genetic disorder which has left him with less than 10% kidney function. Sadly, his kidneys cannot recover and there is no cure for kidney disease. Roger has been approved for a kidney transplant and is listed on the National Kidney Registry.

We are grateful to be working with Mass General Hospital in Boston and while Roger awaits his “Kidney Donor Hero”, he undergoes dialysis treatment several times a week. And, although we are so grateful for Dialysis, “a life saving treatment” it is hard on your body, and very time consuming. Each treatment can take 4-6 hours

Kidney disease and treatments have proven to be difficult to manage. It depletes your energy (among other things…) making it difficult to sustain normal activities such as work and play. Roger is a fighter, and has been diligent with his medical care, keeping a positive attitude and taking it all in stride, but the reality is, he is not well enough to return to work. (although he is eager too, it is just not realistic or safe while he gets his arms around this disease)

Soooo many have generously asked how they can help., and while Roger is determined to remain independent it is clear it will take some time to navigate this disease. So to offer some much needed relief, we’ve created a GoFundMe on his behalf. This will allow for Roger to focus on taking care of himself, rather than the cost of his medical care, which is substantial and adding up, and loss of income from not being able to work.

We are so grateful for everyone's support. For those who offer so much love and support, to the DOZENs who have selflessly registered to become a "living kidney donor", for everyone following his journey @kidneyforRog, and those who asked to help financially…. we cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH. The outpouring of love from family, friends and community is so heartfelt, and overwhelming. It lifts us up every single day. And for that we are forever grateful.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts … and kidneys ;)
