Two years ago, Troy and I were introduced to Nastassia Morris (best known as “Tasha”), who had an in-home daycare at at time when our initial childcare provider was closing her doors. Anyone with children knows how stressful it can be to find someone you can trust and take good care of your child. At the time we didn’t know that we would continue to stay connected to not only Tasha, but her entire family. Tasha is a wife, and a mother of 15 year old Ariana, and 5 years old Ariele (one of Trey’s best friends), whom she home-schools due to her condition of not being able to work outside of home. Tasha and her family have not only loved Trey as their own family, but she and her husband Ramel have been spiritual guides to me and Troy, as they are both in ministry.
Five year ago, at the age of 30, Tasha’s kidneys failed after giving birth, and she has been on dialysis ever since. She is a major inspiration to me, as I have never heard her complain once or say “why is this happening to me?”. Instead she says “it’s all in God’s hands, and in His time.” As you may know, the race of finding a kidney match is a race against time. Every day is life-threatening. Well, I am so glad to say that after years of being on a transplant list, my friend Tasha, is next in line. The doctors at her transplant center in Richmond, VA have shared that they could have a kidney as soon as 2-6 weeks and the family must be ready to be in Richmond (one hour away) for 2 weeks. Tasha will need 24-hour care, so her husband will need to be out of work for 2 weeks, and unfortunately without pay, making it beyond difficult to cover the necessary expenses: 2 week hotel stay, food for the family, additional doctor fees, and day-to-day costs. So, Troy and I have started a GoFundMe account to aid the family in this time when funds should be the last thing they should have to be worried about. I am personally asking for the help of anyone who can donate to this cause. Thank you for reading and thank you for being a blessing✨.
