Kidney For Deborah
Donation protected
After years of dialysis, various tests, countless doctors' appointments and procedures, Deborah Brumagin—mother of two, grandmother to three, and great grandmother to one (with another on the way)—is finally nearing the end of the road leading towards a potential kidney transplant.
She is in the last stages of finalizing her care plans, as required by the Mayo Clinic and her social workers, to ensure that all of her needs will be taken care of during and immediately following transplant surgery. Once her plans are approved, she will be added to the kidney recipient list for a future donation.
A major step in finalizing plans to ensure she can be added to the list for a kidney transplant is proof of funds. She needs to have the money needed to cover whatever living and transportation costs may arise over a four-to-five-week period, should she receive a new kidney. She is going to need to rent a place to live for a month near the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and she will also require transportation costs and food for that period of time, as well as money for any unforeseen emergencies, such as any potential car troubles. Unfortunately, she is on Social Security Disability Insurance and receives precious little to live off of.
That is where you come in. Yes, you.
By donating to help take care of living expenses for both Deborah and her caretakers, all of whom will need to take time off from work—unpaid in most instances—to take care of Deborah, you would be providing a tremendous amount of relief and aid to someone in need.
Please give whatever you can to help Deborah reach her goal and get another step closer to receiving a new kidney, prolonging her life and the time she has with her growing family.
