Kidney Treatment vs. B.A. Degree

Kidney failure treatment vs. Bachelor Degree; Which would you chose?

My husband and I have been married for about a year and a half now. In October of 2016 we got devastating news that my husband is in end stage renal failure. All research says that end stage chronic renal failure cannot be reversed. His GFR is 11 and Creatinine level is above 6.3. This means that we do not have much time before having to start dialysis. Before dialysis can be started, one has to undergo surgery to insert a graft or cannula (small tube) which is necessary for the use of dialysis machines. Although dialysis can cost up to 72,000 dollars a year in the States, the costs can mostly be covered by government programs. Unfortunately, we have looked at every option to come home to the States for treatment, but it is not possible because of our circumstances. Dialysis is cheaper in China, ranging from 10 to 15 thousand U.S. Dollars a year, but THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT HELP.

My husband is only 26 and I am 21. We are both still so young! My original plan was to spend a semester abroad earning money and then a semester at school in the States and repeat this cycle until I achieved my B.A. Degree. Due to this unexpected diagnosis of Kidney Failure, I now have no way to continue my education. All of our money is currently going to medical bills, and saving up for the near future of dialysis surgery and dialysis costs. For our foreseeable future, the medical bills will be never ending, which is why school loans are impractical. Currently, medicine alone is costing us 1,180 dollars a month. This could be the money used for paying for College. Of course I will choose my husbands health over education, but if there is any hope that both are possible, I would like to finish my bachelors degree.

You guys are my hope! I have roughly two years left of school to graduate with my Bachelors in Social Sciences from Southeast Missouri State's online program. I graduated from Saint Charles Community College with my Associates Degree in December of 2016 by taking mostly online courses. I have made honor roll every semester and always maintained a GPA of 3.8 or higher. My goal is to finish my degree which in turn leads to a higher paying job. Qualifying for a better job with lots of benefits can make the difference in medical bills. Without your help my education will sadly have to come to a stop. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
