Hi, we are Juliana’s family. And we created this fund to help her to pay for her medical bills.

She finds out that she had a chronic kidney disease that makes both of her kidneys decrease the function as the time pass, named IGA NEPHOPATY.

 

During this year she have been going thought this treatment trying to keep both kidneys working as long as possible. But this disease causes her some overnight staying at the hospital, headaches, high blood pressure, a lot of swollen and a very severe anaemia.

 

September of 2021, she had to be hospitalized for 1 week because her kidney function was dropping to fast and this was making her potassium going very high which could make her heart stop at any minute. So, her nephrologist told us that probably it was the best time to start thinking about a preventive kidney transplant, that basically it is a TX that they do when they know that there’s no cure. So instead of going thought dialyses she would do the TX as soon as possible.

 

Her husband Gabriel was testing to check his compatibility to be her donor, but unfortunately their bloods are different. Her doctor explained to her that the queue in Australia for a kidney transplant could be quite long, and her best option would be a living donor.

 

As she had 15% of kidney function, we thought that it was the best time to fly to brazil and get my family tested. During all this time in Australia I tried to sign up her for a privet health insurance in Brazil but none of them would accept because of the pre-existing condition.

 

So, she came to brazil, leaving Gabriel (her husband) in Australia so he could keep working and helping her with all her medical bills. No one from my family has privet health insurance so, they had to pay for all tests so we could have the results faster. If we did everything thought the public health insurance, it would take 5 months just to book the MATCHING DNA test.

 

After all tests done, me and my son (her brother) are compatible donors to her. She is now 13% of both kidneys function which is making her even more anaemic. All consults through SUS are taking longer than we expected and the doctors don’t want to make the surgery. Apparently here in Brazil you need to start dialyses before the transplant if you are doing thought the public insure. Even if you have a living healthy donor. And this is taking a lot of time, money and mental health. We are very concerned because they want her to start dialysis which would be a very aggressive and sad treatment. Her doctor in Australia has already given all the referrals for the transplant, but nothing is worth it here. And for me to go to Australia to have the transplant would cost around 500 thousand dollars, which is completely unfeasible.

 

We are doing everything that we can to help her to pay for her expenses here and medical examinations, but unfortunately our money it is not enough. Her father got a loan from his work and we are trying to sell the car, but still a lot of money. When she has done the surgery, she will not be able to work as hard as she was, she will have to come back slowly. We need her to get back to Australia health to keep going after her dream.

 

So, this fund is to help us to pay the surgery in a privet hospital, her tickets fly expenses, medications, rent and survive with her needs as she can’t work at the moment. As a mother it it’s very hard to me to not be able to help her financially in this time of need. That’s why I’m here, asking for help so we can do the surgery and she can come back to Australia and keep living her dream with her little family Gabriel and Munchie.

Ela descobriu que tinha uma doença renal crônica que faz com que ambos os rins diminuam a função com o passar do tempo, NEFROPATIA POR IGA.

 

Durante esses anos ela vem fazendo este tratamento tentando manter ambos os rins funcionando o maior tempo possível. Mas esta doença faz com que ela fique internada muitas vezes, dores de cabeça, pressão alta, muito inchaço e uma anemia muito grave.

 

Em setembro de 2021, ela teve que ser hospitalizada por 1 semana porque sua função renal estava caindo rapidamente e isso estava fazendo com que seu potássio ficasse tão alto que poderia fazer seu coração parar a qualquer minuto. Então, o nefrologista dela nos disse que provavelmente era o melhor momento para começar a pensar em um transplante de rim preventivo, que basicamente é um TX que eles fazem quando sabem que não tem cura. Então, em vez de fazer diálise, ela faria o TX o mais rápido possível.

 

Seu marido Gabriel estava testando para verificar sua compatibilidade para ser seu doador, mas infelizmente seus sangues são diferentes. Seu médico explicou a ela que a fila na Austrália para um transplante de rim poderia ser bastante longa e sua melhor opção seria um doador vivo.

 

Como ela tinha 15% de função renal, achamos que era o melhor momento para voar para o Brasil e fazer o teste da minha família. Durante todo esse tempo na Austrália tentei fazer um seguro de saúde particular no Brasil, mas nenhum deles aceitou por causa da condição pré-existente.

 

Então, ela veio para o Brasil, deixando Gabriel (seu marido) na Austrália para que ele pudesse continuar trabalhando e ajudando-a com todas as suas contas médicas e despesas aqui. Ninguém da minha família tem seguro de saúde particular, então eles tiveram que pagar todos os exames para que pudéssemos ter os resultados mais rápidos. Se fizéssemos tudo no seguro de saúde público, levaria 5 meses só para marcar o teste de compatibilidade.

 

Depois de todos os exames feitos, eu e meu filho (irmão dela) somos doadores compatíveis para ela. Ela agora tem 13% da função de ambos os rins, o que a torna ainda mais anêmica. Correndo o risco de precisar de uma transfusão de sangue. Todas as consultas pelo SUS estão demorando mais do que esperávamos e os médicos não querem fazer a cirurgia. Aparentemente aqui no Brasil você precisa iniciar a diálise antes do transplante se estiver fazendo pelo SUS. Mesmo que você tenha um doador vivo e saudável. E isso está tomando muito tempo, dinheiro e saúde mental. Estamos muito preocupados pois eles querem que ela comece a fazer dialise o que seria um tratamento muito agressivo e triste. A medica dela da austrália ja deu todos os encaminhamentos para o transplante porem nada vale aqui. E pra eu ir pra austrália fazer o transplante sairia em torno de 500 mil dólares, o que e completamente inviável. 

 

Estamos fazendo tudo o que podemos para ajudá-la a pagar suas despesas aqui e exames médicos, mas infelizmente nosso dinheiro não é suficiente. O pai dele conseguiu um empréstimo do trabalho dele, estamos tentando vender o carro. Quando ela tiver feito a cirurgia, ela não poderá trabalhar tanto quanto antes, ela terá que voltar devagar. Precisamos que ela volte à saúde da Austrália para continuar seguindo seu sonho. 

 

Então, esse fundo é para nos ajudar a pagar a cirurgia em um hospital particular, despesas de voo, medicamentos, aluguel e sobreviver com suas necessidades, pois ela não pode trabalhar no momento. Como mãe, é muito difícil para mim não poder ajudá-la financeiramente neste momento. Por isso estou aqui, pedindo ajuda para que possamos fazer a cirurgia e ela possa voltar para a Austrália e continuar vivendo seu sonho com sua família Gabriel e Munchie.
