Kidney Transplant for Timothy Walton
Donation protected
Our Friend/Husband/Father/Brother/: Timothy Walton is currently suffering from a progressive kidney disease called Apol1. Apol1 is a rare gene mutation disease that many African Americans suffer from later in their lives. Tim had no idea he even had this rare disease until the age of 39. It was detected from a routine blood sample. Over the years, his creatine level had been monitored.
Tim was diagnosed with Covid 19 in April 2020, which threw his creatine levels through the roof. He was emergently taken to the hospital in full kidney failure. At that time, Tim needed dialysis. Tim continues to receive dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hour increments each. Dialysis is just a band-aid currently and Tim is in desperate need of a kidney transplant.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about donation or is ready to be evaluated can submit a request for more information online at www.christianacare/kidneytransplant and selecting the "Interested in Living Donation" button in the right side bar menu.
Please note Tims's legal name is Timothy Walton. His date of birth is 07/10/1976- all request must use this information.
We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate an organ but there are a lot of ways to help!! Please consider sharing our story with your friends and family- you never know who may be a perfect match!
If you would rather help financially that would be extremely helpful also. It is extremely important to us that the donor be well supported throughout the process. The medical cost will be covered by insurance but they may incur incidental expenses related to taking time off from work, travel if necessary, additional child care etc. Our goal is to support the donor with these cost and help offset other costs our family will incur throughout this journey.
Thank you again for all your support- we are so grateful to have such an amazing team of folks on our side and are hopeful that we will find a match in no time!!!!
With love and gratitude.
