Kidney Transplant For Ps. Dipak Basnet

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

I am Sunita Basnet, wife of Ps. Simon Sampang from Vermont, USA. We have been pastoring Shekinah Revival Church in Vermont since 2016.

Today, I would like to take this time to request you all for your kind financial help for my own elder brother Ps. Dipak Basnet (Benjamin Basnet) from Jaigaon, West Bengal, India. He is 55 years old. He is Pastor of Victory Christian Church in Jaigaon since 1995. He has a beautiful family. He is a compassionate, and a very kind hearted person that we have ever known. Beside his calling as a Pastor, he is also actively involved in social works, helping the poor and needy in spite of caste, creed and religion. In the past, he has helped the refugee people by providing clothing and food in the camp Timai when a fire broke out burning hundreds of houses. He has also helped a few pastors of the refugee camp financially and materially for the cause of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is a person with a genuine heart.

He was a very healthy person and he was fine till last year. Suddenly, he started to have problems with his legs. It started with some pain and swolleness of his legs. He did treatment for it too, but it wasn’t getting any better. He visited a Doctor specialist on 12th March, 2022 and did blood test and he happened to have a high creatinine of 10.5. The doctor prescribed medicines and suggested him for USG. On 13th of March, after the reports of USG, he was diagnosed with a CKD stage 5 (total kidney failure) and his health got worse day by day. So, he was taken hurriedly to Anandaloke Hospital at Siliguri and admitted to ICU and started his dialysis. Since then he has been on dialysis twice a week. The doctor declared him as a CKD stage 5 patient and suggested he go for a kidney transplant for survival as soon as possible. He has lost so much weight. The main reason for his kidney failure was hypertension.

I went to visit him in India last month and saw his pain and tears. It was hard to see a person who brings joy to everyone’s life being in a critical condition - fighting between life and death. I was heartbroken. The whole family is in shock because we had just lost our younger brother two years ago. We are still in grief and finding out about this news was difficult for us. And we don’t want to lose one of our most loving elder brothers again. He was the first in our entire family to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and through him we all family came to know Christ.

We would like to thank God that few of our family members have decided to donate their kidney for him and the tests for kidney match are going to begin very soon. So we need to get ready for the kidney transplant. So for that we are in great need of finance and I humbly request it from you all in the hope that my community and my loved ones will help me out through this hard time for my brother. Your little contribution will make a huge impact. As soon as we receive the sufficient fund, we will immediately start the transplant. Thank you for standing with me and praying for my brother Dipak. I will be very grateful for your generous giving. May God open the doors and windows of heaven to bless you to bless others generously. Thank you so much! God bless you!
