Kidney Transplant for Cristina
Donation protected
Hi, I am a friend/colleague of Cristina Orfiano. Recently Cristina was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy, which is an autoimmune kidney disease.
In May of this year, Cristina was constantly experiencing headaches for three weeks. It was affecting her daily routine, that physically and mentally she could no longer perform her daily tasks. It became unbearable that her mom had to accompany her to the ER. That is when doctors had diagnosed that her kidneys were failing.
It is caused by IgA nephropathy, also known as Berger's disease. Berger's disease is a kidney disorder that occurs when an antibody called immunoglobulin A (IgA ) builds up in the kidneys. This results in local inflammation that, over time, can hamper your kidneys' ability to filter waste from your blood. Cristina had never experienced any other symptoms, so this unfortunate news was a shock. Currently, Cristina's diagnosis is at the stage where she requires a kidney transplant. Her immediate family members do not qualify to be donors because of existing medical health conditions, or considered an absolute match to donate a kidney. Her aunt is a match, and has offered to donate her kidney, however, she lives and is located in the Philippines. Cristina and her family are unable to afford the cost of flying her aunt out to Canada and the medical expenses for the kidney transplant, and would like to ask for your assistance and help out of the goodness of your hearts.
The purpose of this funding is to assist Cristina and her family, to bring her aunt here to Canada for the required kidney transplant and to assist the family with medical expenses that may arise in the process. If you can find it in your heart to assist and donate, any amount would be greatly appreciated to help Cristina and her family during this difficult ordeal.
Thank you so much for the prayers and support.
