Kidney Transplant Donation for Femi Fadahunsi

Our father, uncle, and brother Femi Fadahunsi, 62, was diagnosed with diabetes almost ten years ago and has suffered many complications related to the condition since then. He retired from public service two years ago. While managing the condition, he was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy, which significantly affected his vision. He has had several surgeries. In August 2021, he became bedridden as he lost his sight and was consequently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. He has been consistently in and out of the hospital. Over the last six months, his condition has required dialysis every two days, which has put significant pressure on the family finances. Most recently, every part of his body has become swollen due to accumulated body waste because dialysis is no longer effective. This is also because the kidney has begun to fail beyond normal.

To this point, we have spent his retirement benefits that do not include medical insurance. We have relied on family and friends for emotional and financial support and are grateful for their assistance. Since the drastic deterioration of his kidney, it is now medically critical to complete a renal (kidney) transplant.

We are left without a choice but to seek financial support via this Gofundme platform to cover the kidney transplant expenses. The surgery bill is expensive, and the entire family can not imagine raising it due to our financial situation. Every day we see him unrecognizable, languishing in pain, and passing out, it breaks our hearts.
