Hi, my name is Jazlynn Marie! In 2020, at twenty-one, I was diagnosed with kidney failure (End Stage Renal Disease). I have been on dialysis since then, and it has been tough on my body and very time-consuming. I have been juggling doctor's appointments/dialysis/hospitalizations and trying to manage to be a full-time student. While it has not been the easiest, it is still doable. However, I am starting my kidney transplant evaluation process, and I am trying to make sure I can cover all the costs for when they call me. While this is very exciting things, I am a little worried as to how I will be able to manage paying the travel expenses and hotel and any other expenses, on top of my non-medical bills. I am not working because I am already after dialysis and have just enough energy for school. Even then, there are days when I cannot attend a class or a student government meeting for student government because there are days when I do not feel good. So trying to add a job into the mix is challenging at the moment. I hope to be a candidate for a kidney transplant, but in the meantime, I have to figure things out. I hate having to ask you all for help, and I have been trying to figure things out myself for the past two years. But in all honesty... it is hard, and it is time for me to ask for help. I am trying to care for my health and still accomplish all my goals and dreams. I wouldn't use this money on frivolous things; I genuinely need it for travel expenses because, as of August 26th, 2022, I will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic and need money for gas and my hotel. I would love to go over my goal that I have set for when (not if) I get the call that I will be getting the transplant!!
Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated
