Milton received his KIDNEY

UPDATE:
Testimony Time

October 2021- placed on kidney transplant list, was told that it would take 3-5 years for a match to come available due to my rare blood and tissue typing. (2 years 7 months ago)

January 2023- forced to do dialysis nightly at home (1 year & 5 months ago)

From October ‘21 to April ‘24- 12 people went out to be a match for kidney donation. Only 2 were blood type matches, 1 of them were not a tissue match and the other had health issues they needed to handle first.

June 3, 2024- I had insomnia this particular morning and couldn’t go to sleep. I looked at the time and it said 5:06am, I told myself ok try to get a couple of hours of sleep. At 5:07am my phone was ringing, no clue who would call me with an emergency at this time, I picked up and that’s when my life took a turn! “We have found a kidney for you. When can you get here?” I pack up my things and was walking into OSU at 5:50am. The doctor came and met with me and told me that not 1 but 2 kidneys were available for that day. I couldn’t do anything but cry because first it was that it’d take this exorbitant amount of time to get one (which it didn’t), but 2 people matched me in the same day…. Unheard of.

As of Today- the kidney has accepted thus far and is doing great. Moral of the story is that God has the final say, it’s all in His timing and he’s purposed us to go through for others. I kept the faith this entire time knowing that he would restore me. He said don’t listen to the doctors timing and don’t get discouraged about the matches…. Exceedingly abundantly !!!

“After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you” (1 Peter 5:10)

PURPOSE: Monies raised will go towards out of pocket expenses for myself as insurance does not cover everything. I have a substantial amount saved up in anticipation for this moment however, the hospital suggested I reach out to my community for additional funds. Those expenses include but aren’t limited to copays, deductibles, medication, living expenses during recovery and more due to my pay at my job going down by 40% while on leave. Thank you in advance for your donations of any kind! #Kidney4Milt

Previous recap posted:
In 2011 my life changed in a way I wasn’t expecting. I was experiencing swelling in my ankles and hands accompanied by the worst headache I’d ever had for almost a week. I decided to go to the ER; while there they did testing to figure out what was going on with me. My doctor came into my room and said “You’re going to be here for a while buddy…. You’re in kidney failure” I was devastated, didn’t know what I would do if I had to go on dialysis at 25. But God! Since 2011, my kidneys have sustained me with their little function.

I was once tested for getting a transplant back in 2017 but OSU denied me stating my function was not low enough. My doctor continued to watch my kidney function and over this summer decided to re-refer me. I get to OSU and meet with my care team, the transplant doctor came in the room and said “you are thee healthiest person we have had come in for a transplant and I’m happy about that, you are an ideal candidate.” But no promises could be made because I was NOT on dialysis and I’m pretty healthy otherwise, in addition to the fact that they had to present my case to a team of doctors and the board for approval.

I have had 12 people who have volunteered to be tested as a match and our prayer is that at least 1 of them will be a match. If you would like to be considered as a donor inbox me. Please pray for us as we go through this journey. I am speaking that these next few months will provide supernatural favor, alignment of resources and support.
