Kidney for Kara

Kara is a beautiful, amazing, kind, funny 14 year old girl enjoying the summer before starting her freshman year of high school.  She is adored by her parents Jen and Mark , her little brother Zach, her friends and her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. 


She loves spending time with friends, playing sports and her dog, Hank.  


On Monday June 22, she had a severe pain in her side and she was taken to the ER.  She was immediately transferred to a bigger and more specialized hospital and within 24 hours she and her parents were told both kidneys were failing.  They were told that her  kidneys had stopped growing at around 4 years old and as she grew they have been unable to continue to do their job.  She would need a transplant.  While this was devastating news it was also a complete shock as Kara had no symptoms of kidney failure and had lived a completely healthy life.  


Then, within the next two days , after more tests, labs and scans, it was discovered that their healthy vibrant daughter would need that transplant not in a few years but within a few months!!!
