My name is Nelson and living in the UK. My brother Brown living in Zimbabwe has been diagnosed with kidney failure problems. Brown is 68yrs old and he is not employed and he is unable to fund his treatment. The doctors have recommended kidney dialysis as the solution to save his life. For the past three months I have been sponsoring his treatment but I am now running out of money to support him to continue receiving treatment.
The doctors have recommended dialysis sessions three times per week. Each session costs USD $130, and pre and post blood tests are being changed at USD $80. The monthly treatment expenditure is appropriately USD $900 and this includes transport from Glendale to Harare for treatment because he is a out patient.
At present he is on a temporary catheter and that needs to be taken off to be replaced with a permanent catheter. The doctors have given the quotation for a permanent catheter to be at around USD $800
I am not sure how long he will be on this treatment plan but it appears that this may be a life long problem for him.
