kidney cancer journey helping Tony through recovery

UPDATE: Tony has been served an eviction notice while in hospital having life saving surgery, due to him not being able to cover his bills as he’s unable to work, universal credit can not cover Tony’s rent, all donations will help during this time, towards Tony having somewhere to live and help him through hardship in recovery.

This is my uncles story…

He always gives so much to people and never wants anything back, he is a healer to many people… he’s always been a father figure to myself, he’s a father, and a brother, and I’m asking for your help

Tony had been urgently referred on the 5/02/2025 for suspected cancer on the kidney as a mass was present.

He had been complaining for about pain for 6 months previous and also had physiotherapy.

On the 22/02/2025 it was confirmed the cancer is on his upper right kidney.

Tony is having a major operation in 3-4 months to attempt to remove the cancer, but if this surgery fails, then he will have to be on dialysis for the rest of his life…

And there is a 50% chance the cancer may not go if they take away the mass after this operation.

Tony’s other kidney is undeveloped, which complicates his surgery as he would not be able to survive on that kidney, so therefore would need a kidney transplant. Tony’s sister has opted to give her kidney if the surgery of removing the cancer fails.

I’m trying to raise £5000 to help contribute towards his costs, bills, rent, food, over the next few months, this includes for his recovery after surgery.

this illness has affected his physical health to work, he is in a lot of pain, and discomfort, The mental impact it has also took on him is heartbreaking… he needs to process having cancer and focus on his health instead of the stress of finances.

Tony had lost his beautiful mum to cancer in 2019 and is now facing the same battle…

tonys mum was his world.

despite being told he has cancer, Tony continues to smile through his day, and keeps his head high, ‘’I’m going to fight this’’ are the words of himself, even through the time he’s in pain.

he has been through so much in the past 5 years and he honestly deserves a break with everything in life that has thrown his way…

He also will need to recover during this operation… and I think this will take the financial pressure off him while trying to recover from this operation. Tony has contributed so much to society over the years…

he has also been a hard working man for 40 years of his life… he deserves the help with how much he has helped people.
