Kida's Emergency Surgery

I never thought I would be typing something like this for my best friend. As most of you know, I recently had the opportunity to adopt a puppy to become my Pshyciatric Service Dog. He will be able to help me manage my life and get better with my coping skills for PTSD, ADHD, Social / Generalized Anxiety, and Depression. Even as a puppy he has helped me so much, and he's in touch with how I feel. He's a fast learner with an incredible ability to know what I need.

 

Today I found out that he is going to need emergency surgery to remove a foreign object from his intestines. Little man here got into my trash can when I wasn't looking and managed to swallow a chicken wing whole. They've tried for the last 24 hours to give him fluids and pain medication to make sure he can pass it but they have had no luck. He is being prepped for surgery now so they can go in and remove it.

 

His insurance is able to cover a portion of the surgery but I will have to cover the rest, which will completely obliterate my financial stability for the both of us. I am not sure I can give them all of this money upfront and if I can't they won't do the surgery. If he doesn't have this removed he very likely will die. They have given me a round about budget of $14,000 for this procedure. ***UPDATE*** The vet was able to get ahold of his insurance and have them agree to pay their portion of the procedure. That being said, I won't have a final estimate for my costs but this means it will be much lower than 14k. Kida is doing well and went into surgery today!! I am so grateful that he is ok but I am still going to have to come up with the rest of these costs for the vet. Even a small donation, just $10 could add up and make a world of difference. My dog is my best friend. I feel heartbroken that he has to go through this and I am praying he will make it through and be okay. I am at a loss for words right now. If you can help us in any way it will save my dogs life.
