Kickstart Disability Arts & Culture is a registered charitable non-profit organization that supports and promotes artists who live with disabilities.
Since 1998 Kickstart has been presenting professional theatre productions, curated visual art exhibitions, concerts, workshops, artist talks and so much more. We are not a service provider. We are an arts and culture organization.
The money we are trying to raise will go towards the production costs and artist fees for a card set that will include 5 different art cards with 5 envelopes. Each of these cards will feature an artwork by an artist who lives with a disability. On the back there will be information about the artist and their website, as well as information about Kickstart. Also included is a postcard with a preview image of the 5 cards and information about Kickstart. This will all be packaged in a plastic sleeve.
Our costs include paying artists for the rights to use their image, which is our largest cost. Other costs include printing, envelopes, plastic sleeves, shipping costs, and sales tax. It all adds up so fast.
We have a designer who has donated their time to do all the set up work for us, which is amazing. Our volunteers, Board of Directors, and staff will work together to put the card sets together. Then we have to sell them all!
Our hope with this fundraising campaign is to raise enough money so we can create 500 sets of cards. We will sell them for $20 each, which would allow us to raise $10,000 for Kickstart! This would make such an impact on our organization. If we are lucky enough to raise more than our goal, we will hopefully be able to print 1,000 sets and sell all of those to potentially raise $20,000! That would be amazing.
Like most arts organizations, Kickstart struggles with raising enough money to successfully do the work our mission demands. With your help, you can help us get these card sets created so we can continue to support and promote artists who live with disabilities.
