My name is Lisa Burton, and I have been photographing abandoned cars, buildings, and houses in the Southeast and beyond for the last 30 years. Over the last year, I've started adding found objects to create mixed media, collage, and 3-D wall sculpture, focusing mostly on vintage and historic items. I attended my first market as a vendor in December and was really well received. I now have an art booth at Billy's Tavern, am curating a tiny house at Smith Lake, and I am creating 15 pieces for the Terrific New Theatre. Donations will go towards the vendor fees required in advance at local art and craft markets that allow me the opportunity to offer my wares to the community, and hopefully do well enough to keep me in paint and groceries .
The response has been amazing! Unfortunately, the markets that I need to participate in require vendors' fees in advance, which has been difficult for me to come up with. I think I need help. I'm a little scared and a little desperate. The season is starting, and there are markets everywhere, but I don't have the vendors' fees, and I know that with just a little kickstart, I can catch up and kick ass! I have been hanging on by a thread for months and have literally been the starving artist.
